My husband's grandmother passed a few days ago and we have to fly to the NE with our little guy.

I've flown with a 9 month old.

The earliest I've flown is 5 months old. She breastfed, slept and breastfed so it was fine. Short flight tho, maybe 2 hours in the air. No screaming fits from the pressure. I think they make earplanes for kids, but I don't know if they will fit an infant. Might be worth checking into. It is pretty likely he will sleep on the plane, it is one big white noise machine.

My advice is to take your own carseat for the rental car. We tried to rent one with the car once and it was a total disaster. We ended up buying one!

I just flew with Jacob a few weeks ago he was amazingly good the whole time didnt scream at all either slept or was happy i used paci/bottle for takeoff and landing unless he was sleeping.. I was also told you can take the carseat and stroller all the way to the gate and they will ck it at the door of the plane that way its with you the entire time it worked like a charm..
