The other 2 outgrew them around 4 months.. I remember keeping it in the trunk to put them in at stores because they weren't sitting well enough for the cart when shopping.. Gracie is 4 months she's going to fit in the carrier another month or two she's not as tall as her brother and sister were she's catching up though

We were just having this conversation the other day. Jack seems OK in it still, but it's getting REALLY heavy to lug around...and he's not even as big as his brother and sister were! I think I'm going to have to shop around for a good convertible seat pretty soon.

We just bought a convertible car seat but I am hoping Megan doesn't outgrow her carrier for at least another three months. I don't know if she will make it that long. She is growing so fast.

My first two kids out grew theirs around eight months but my third made it until close to a year.

I don't really remember either, but with the other 3 it was around a year old.

Mine have all been in it until a bit past their first birthday, although at some point I don't carry it in everywhere.

Previously we had a Graco seat. This time I had to buy a new seat and we bought the new Britax BSafe. Love the seat and I know it's rated to 30+ lbs. But I do think it's heavier than the Graco because I already think twice about taking out of the car with me.

None of my girls have been 20 lbs at 1 year and we stay rear facing until 2 (even before it was officially recommended), so I like the flexibility of the infant seat. Even if I can't lift it out my DH can. I think the rule is one inch below the top of the shell ... but I honestly don't remember. I just know we have a LONG time to go in the new Britax seat. She's 6 or more inches from the top at least.

With the other 3 kids, we carried them into stores and other places in the carrier until we quit using the carrier.
