That's what i get here and there. BH nothing big. Just a tightness of the lower pelvic area but it doesn't last and I don't have regular ones that continue for long. I have just had 3 of them in a row..I guess ask River but i think if they continue for a long time and get closer together, like 5-7 min apart,

Thanks i think they are slowing down .. I think its just the heat and my incessant love for Dr. pepper over water ;) i am eating watermelon and drinking water right now so hopefully they will stop soon

Well, technically Braxton Hicks are intermittant and do not repeat more than 3 in an hour.

I have sporatic BH, too...but they can be quite frequent. I know they're BH b/c there's no pain, just discomfort at times. Also, I get tightening that lasts for quite some time but also w/o any pain involved. My dr has said that real contractions aren't sustained; they'll be intermittent and should feel uncomfortable to some degree. With it being so hot out, be careful with the love for Dr. Pepper, LOL! and caffeine consumption...it really can cause dehydration. I'm not trying to preach, please don't take it that way ;)

I think it might be a typo... you mentioned that your doctor said that real

sorry for any confusion :P

to clarify...by "not sustained and intermittant" i mean that they will come in intervals and will not be one long contraction for 10-15 mins straight, let's say. with the BH i personally have, my belly can remain tightened for an extended period of time (up to 10-15 mins at most) which gives a lot of discomfort but not pain. with real contractions, you wouldn't have one lasting THAT long...or at least i've never heard of it happening. usually it's 1 contraction lasting up to 2 mins, and coming maybe as frequently (as you approach delivery) as every 2 mins.

Wow Alicia!! I never have a BH that last more than 1 minute really..I remember getting BH during first pregnancy and thought i was in labor but it went away. THen on my due date those contractions wouldn't go away and were getting strong..and there it was --true labor...I swear i can see this labor being just as long and fun-filled as the first time (i hope not though). oh well we shall see. I think my uterus forgot just like i have about the fun things that need to occur to get this baby out.
