Who will be in the room with you when you give birth?

Delivery room should be agreed on by both parents. For sure hubby will be in the room Alex(7) probably will be too . Dhs grandmother is supposed to be here to watch Alex so if she wants to stay or walk out is up to her doesn't matter to me.

I know I'm having a c-section so it's only my husband. Last time with my son it was always going to be only my husband, as well. I'm a rather modest person in that respect and I don't want a bigger crowd than necessary.

I think it should be up to the mother, so long as it doesn't get in the way of the hospital staff.

I don't think my dh is going to be there. He is going out of town for a week the week before my due date. If he is here he will be there for some of (like the very end) but this is our third kid and he really doesn't like blood and guts kind of things and I haven't found him to be a great support system....so this time I have asked my older sister. My younger sister will probably be there too but again just up to her comfort level. I am happy with this arrangement. I think my needs will be better met and dh will be happier too. Last time we had no family around and he left for two hours ......he made it back just in time for the delivery. all the nurses went on and on about how sweet he was they even brought him and extra meal tray they had because they thought he was so 'wonderful' ...........i was thinking the arse just left me for two hours by self......lol.... we can laugh about it now but i have come to accept that the delivery room is just not his thing....

For my first, it was my SO and my mom...which really worked out well because as much as I love my SO...my mom was DEFINATELY a better support system...LOL. SO got all offended when I didn't answer his questions during contractions!

For my second and also for this birth, I will be having a CS, so it will only be SO. Which is fine because it's not like he has to do all that much except hold my hand and try to keep me calm. Last time, I had some sort of anxiety attack or whatever that caused my BP to drop and I was hyperventilating so they knocked me out. I'm hoping he can keep me calm this time because I'd really like to avoid that!

It's going to be DH and our mothers there. I couldn't imagine not having the moms around! It makes it more special, IMO :)
