Okay, so I am used to occasionally having to rescedule my appt. (which I have in the afternoons) because of the ob having to deliver a baby or whatever.. No big deal... but today I was asked to either come in early (not possible) or reschedule because the nurse was going to be out!! You only have one nurse!! And no one else can take my weight and blood pressure??! ::sigh:: I understand that things happen and people get sick, but.. seriously.. you only have one nurse...Ughh... Oh well.. I can tell you how my appt. would have gone anyhow..

ob "how are you feeling?"

me "not sleeping, reflux, queasy, baby not that active, lots of contractions that don't come in a pattern but are getting worse"

ob "baby's hr is fine. Any bleeding? Are you drinking enough?"

me "no bleeding, drinking water ALL day, increased discharge, but no bleeding"

ob "well, I'll see you in two weeks"...

And, evidentally I need a nurse for this..

Thanks for listening!! :smileymad:

Sorry about that Jen..I know you are frustrated with that office and dr (so i guess there's only one dr too ?) Did you know this when you started going there or you had no choice due to insurance etc. ?

You were in L&D the other night? ugh yeah i only have a few hospitals same distance as the one i will be delivering. They're all reputable but same distance. The practice i go to is not in the hospital (separate facility --in an office bldg a few blocks from hospital). Maybe if it were in hospital i would get free or discounted parking. I hope you get in there for your appt soon!!

How frustrating. Most offices don't have any nurses ....just medical assistants so i agree they should had you come in anyway especially with you having been at labor and delivery.

Did I miss something? My understanding was that this was just a normal check-up, not that there had been a visit to L&D... I thought that was in reference to a previous pregnancy.

lol.. Sorry about the confusion (knew that would happen!) That was my last pregnancy.. I won't go into L&D this time unless I have severe contractions, bleeding, or don't feel the baby.. Been there, done that too many times to want to take that route again!

How frustrating! That is so weird that they only have one nurse. At my clinic, each OB has their own nurse.
