Anyone have experience with Zofran?

I am not throwing up much (just once so far), but I lost 5 lbs since my last appt. 2.5 weeks ago. I am not eating much, or drinking much. My MW offered to write a script for Zofran. At first I was shocked as I thought they reserve Zofran for severe vomiting, etc. But, the more I think about it the more

I took it with my last and it worked like a charm. I was able to eat and drink and resume a normal life after taking it. I kicked myself for not insisting on a script in previous pregnancies. I dont see the doc till next week so for now I am taking a half a unisom and b6 at night and taking Dramamine as needed but it makes me sooo sleepy . I believe I had the generic form and it was still really expensive. I had insurance so it was affordable but I think the actual cost without insurance was like 50-60 dollars a pill - it was crazy!

I was prescribed this at my last appointment and have tried it a couple times since.. It is not the miracle for m/s for me that it is for some.. But I guess it depends on your level of m/s and stuff.. My insurance covered it, so I am not sure how expensive it is exactly, but I received the generic version and it said it saved me like $122 dollars for 4 packs (something like that) so I think the price is kinda high..

It was a miracle drug for me with my 2nd pregnancy. It does have a generic. I can't remember the price, but the generic isn't as pricey as the name brand. If you take it I would recommend starting a stool softener as well b/c it causes very severe constipation.

I'm on it now. Some days it completely takes the nausea away, some days it just makes it better. I wouldn't be functional without it. If you are uninsured it can cost a lot. Just before I concieved I had surgery and the amount for a 3 month supply was $3,000 before insurance, luckily I didn't pay that.

my ob/gyn's office said they only prescribe Zofran if i was vomiting not just for nausea...i am hoping my nausea goes away by chrstmas or at least NY's and if it causes constipation...i wouldn't like that because i already have IBS...i'll survive. Good luck ladies.
