That's strange. My period was the same date as yours but I ovulated late and my ultrasound said my EDD is 7/17. My dr is using the ultrasound since its more accurate, that's strange that your dr isn't doing the same. But maybe she is thinking better safe then sorry if it comes to inducing in the end, she wouldn't want to assume your 40 weeks just in case you might be only 38. Know what I mean? That's the only thing I could figure out.

You know..my doctor said something similar, i didn't know my last period date, so by the size of the baby he said i was 7w3d. He was thinking of "giving me" an earlier due date *counting the fact that this is not my first baby* and that i have had my kids "right on schedule" so he kept counting and counting and he said "let's just keep it July 1stto be safe". Which i agreed on, he did mention a date like June 26 or 28. Maybe the way your uterus was measuring or something??

My doc is using ultrasound, too, and I ended up with a 7/4 with the same LMP as you two. But I have to have a C, as our hospital doesn't allow VBAC, so it will probably be the last week in June.

The ultrasound is not THAT accurate. Doctors commonly don't take the ulrasound's suggested due date over YOUR suggested due date unless you periods are wildly irregular, or if the U/S date is 5 or more days different... I guess your period are regular? (or no?)

and p.s. I would want the latest due date possible! The only significance of the date is that doctors can start needling you to get induce after it!

My doula told me they only change it if it's a week or more different.

And I'd go for the latest date possible too, especially if you're delivering in a hospital with an OB.

Easy calculation from LMP: add 7 days to your LMP and subtract three months: 9/27/10 + 7days =10/4/10 - 3 months = 7/4/10

I would think that an ultrasound date would be more accurate because you are measuring the baby, and with the date of your LMP is so hard because doctors are just guessing how regular/irregular or how you ovulate..kwim?? With the ultrasound they are going by measurements??
