I don't see a problem with it long as the kids have the choice to leave if need be . My som wad 5 years 11 days when our daughter was born he stayed in the room the doctor just made sure we had a sheet over my legs. We've given him the choice to stay again if he wants if things go as planned hubby's grandmother is supposed to come up for the birth ( family lives 1300 miles away soooo) another option iffy be his best friends mom but I suspect he will Want to stay again which is fine by me.

Last pregnancy: we had three OBs in the practice (plus two back-ups from another practice that share weekends with them).

Assuming they can handle you being in pain, it would be so special having your children there! I've never really thought about letting children in to witness the birth until now. Mine are way too active for me to even consider having them around, but if they were older and more calm, I would LOVE to have them witness the birth. Too bad this will most likely be my last pregnancy.

I would be surprised if your hospital allowed you to have your 2.5 yo there for the delivery. Though she sounds like the exception to the rule, most kids that age wouldn't be able to handle sitting still and out of the way for a long period of time. It seems like they would just rule out 2 year olds altogether. I can understand why you would want her there though.
