For all the mommies that have done this before...what is the "must have" item that you couldn't do without when bringing home your new babe?

Oh my lord, the Papasan was a lifesaver for my daughter!! With my DS, he wouldn't sleep anywhere for the first few weeks other than his carseat, which I didn't think was good for him. Right before my DD was born, my mom got me a Papasan because we figured if we had the same problem at least the Papasan seemed a little better than the carseat. It worked like a charm. She slept in it for maybe the first month and then went right to her crib with a little sleep wedge (she had acid reflux, so sleeping at a bit of an angle seemed to help). I definitely want another Papasan this time around!

Another thing I couldn't live without was that little wedge/sleep positioner. Both of my children seemed to sleep better while at a bit of an angle and the wedge comes with little "wings" that keep the baby in more of a confined spot. This made such a difference, especially with DS who just had such a hard time sleeping!

You know, I am convinced that the Boppy must be a love it or hate it item.

LOVED my boppy, too. and my son loved it sooo much we bought 1 for him at daycare. i also *LOVE* my glider chair...still...we use it every night. my son *HATED* that papasan seat so we're gonna get a regular bouncy chair this time...but he loved the swing until he outgrew it!

River,

I think the Boppy is pretty much the same as it always has been. My cousin had one for her son (11 years ago). I got practically the same thing for my son (6 years ago) and the ones I've seen in the stores now don't look any different. I didnt' use it for my daughter...I sort of found it cumbersome. I think it's like all baby products, you're either going to love it or hate it. For example, I really want a Moby sling for this baby. I've heard great things about
