No soft serve ice cream surprised me the most. It's because of the possibility of bacteria growing in the machines if they aren't properly cleaned since pregnant women are more susceptible to infections.

I totally break this rule!!! When I was in the hospital for 8 weeks while pregnant with DS my husband frequently brought me ice cream from Dairy Queen. No one batted an eye & there were lots of eyes on me all.the.time.

I break it too from time to time. :) I just stick with places I've been to before. I figure if they weren't doing what they need to do, one of us would've been sick by now.

Oh man! Really, no soft serve. :( I've definitely broken that one. All those DQ runs. I think I've heard the high altitude one before.

My last pregnancy, my OB told me sushi was OK but only if it is from a good place - the risk is from bacteria, not mercury.

I specifically asked my 1st OB with DS about lunch meat since I frequently took my lunch & ate a lot of Subway. She told me that as long as it was heated it was probably fine but to not go overboard & not to eat it ALL the time.

I have a funny one for you all ... my best friend passed this one along as something her OB told her was a no-no.
