Finally arranged to switch over to a new midwife and am having my home birth.. Anyone else? Our insurance won't cover it so we're paying out of pocket but I'm so stoked..

I'm not doing a homebirth, but yahoo for being able to do it! I'm sure the cost will be a pain...but so worth it. Yay!

I can't have a home birth (due to complications after DD's birth), but I am definitely jealous! How exciting!

My insurance doesn't cover it, but after having my son.. I don't think I'd want to even try. I hemorraged pretty bad, and had to get a blood transfusion the day after delivering.

But way to go! & good luck!!

That's amazing! I've never really wanted a homebirth exactly but this being my third child, I'm really starting to get tired of the hospital scene.... I hate the quick appointments where they ask you nothing and then look at you like you're crazy when you ask questions or have concerns. I had entertained the idea of a birthing center, now I'm not even sure I can have a VBAC. :(

I can't have a homebirth for a list of reasons, but I'm excited for you! If I've learned anything from a friend of mine, make sure you do thorough research on your midwife and get lots of references. Most midwives are great but there are a few not-so-great ones out there.

Congrats on gong with it. We usually have t be induced a little early due to fluid issues so I will be in a hospital for this one too.

Having a Water birth looks appealing to me, but I'm heading to the hospital. Not being able to get an epidural would would not work for me. I need pain medication. More power to you! Congrat's on being able to have a homebirth, I hope it is a pleasant experience for you & your family.

I'm not planning a home birth, but I did switch to a midwife and I am trying to decide how I want to approach this birth. I'm definitely thinking of going all natural, possibly a water birth (available at my hospital), and I'm also trying to decide if I should take the Hypnobirthing class or look into the Bradley method... Congrats on being able to have the birth you want! So empowering!
