I love my OB...

... but I'm thinking of changing to a Midwife.

Well, really I only love one of the OBs at my OBGYN office. The rest I could take them or leave them.

I had a routine check-up yesterday and she asked me if I wanted to set up my c/s. I told her I really wanted to try for a VBAC. I then started asking her about some of the procedures that they do for VBACs and was joking when I said, "I really would like a homebirth!" I then told her, that I didn't REALLY want a homebirth, but I would like to have a homebirth experience in a hospital. She then suggested that I go to a practice of Midwives that are closeby. I thought that they wouldn't take me because I had a previous c/s, but she said that she interned with them and she would not only suggest them to me, she would set up an appt for my husband and I to go and visit and speak to them about the possibility of switching over.

Really?!?! Wow! How many other OBs would do THAT?

That's awesome! I really want a VBAC too and my doctors are pretty supportive so far. There is one doctor who won't do them so if he's on call the day I go in then they have to call someone else for me. I really hope it works for us! I had a very different reason for my c-section so I hope I don't freak out again and change my mind closer to the due date.....

So happy to hear that your doctor is so supportive!

That's the same reasonI love mine. With my ODD I told him I didn't want a c-section or episiotimy (unless medically necessary). And he was all on board with that. Same way for this one.

I just photographed a HBAC with my midwife this past weekend... You can do it! If nothing else go to the appointment and feel it out.. Good luck!

I guess I have never heard that term. But WAY TO GO for those that do it!

I am a bit more hesitant to try something like that because I have Uterine Didelphys. If I was out on The Farm with Ina May Gaskin, I might try it. But since that isn't really an option for me, I'll try it out with the midwives. :)

I always wanted to try a midwife too. I'm thinking about switching over when I move.
