We are having a boy and want to name him Edward Robert, but everyone we have told the name to hates it! I know it's not a common name now but I think thats a good thing. At risk of you ladies not liking it, i was wondering what you think. Thanks for your input

I love it!! Edward will be our son's middle name. Edward Robert flows so nicely together and sounds presidential ;) A lot of ladies choose not to tell the name because of the unwanted opinions. I think it's great! Stay strong because it's a strong name. :)

The first thing I thought of was Edward from Twilight who is played by a Robert...but I just watched one of the movies last night so it's probably fresh on my mind. ;-) Both names are classic and it's your son so name him what you want! They will love him no matter what and if people don't like the name they can get over it. I think names are a very personal matter and completely up to you. (My sister always told me that she would NEVER make her son a jr because it's "tacky" or something like that, and when I told her that's what we were doing she seemed indifferent. Whatevs, we like the name and are using it!)

I really like it! Stick to your guns! It's a strong and classic name, you can't go wrong!

My son had a friend on his t-ball team named Eddie and he was adorable.

I like it! Two classic names together. Just remember that what matters most is that you like it. Who cares what other people think.

Prince Charles has a brother named Edward who is probably the better behaved of all of Queen Elizabeth's four children, so that makes it the name of kings! There's a lot you can do with that as far as Eddie or Ed for nicknames too. Plus, the vampire guy in the Twilight books was Edward, so all the teen girls right now think he is the hottest thing out there.

I decided not to tell anyone the babies' names until they are born. Everyone thinks they have to comment and vote or something. I can't imagine a new mom suggesting a name to me and then ripping on it like some people do. Weird. Rude.

You go, girl. Name your baby Edward. Who cares? It is a classic name that sounds strong. You don't want to name a boy anything too different or trendy like you might for a girl.
