In small quanaties, no. I have a half caff or one cup of regular coffee every morning (keeps my headaches under control) and sometimes a sweet tea with dinner (major craving). It's the large quanaties like 6 cups of coffee a day that may not be so great. :)

No, that's not bad. I usually have a coffee in the morning, and sometimes a can of pepsi in the afternoon (maybe 3 days a week or so). Some people might think it's too much, but I've lived this way with my pg's every time and I have 2 perfect children. And according to my OB it's perfectly fine!

I believe the 'experts' say no more than 200 mg a day. I forget how much is in a cup of drip coffee, but I know a Statbucks tall latte has 75 mg & a grande has 150 mg. I stuck to no more than one of those a day.

I read one time that the danger of too much caffiene is low birth weight in the baby. With my second child, I was so nauseous for five months that some days ALL I could get DOWN was a coke. He was a week early and weighed 9 lbs 11 oz. I think one a day (coffee or soda) is not bad. That aspartame in the diet sodas is supposed to be bad for brain development though. I'm sure they are talking about massive quantities too though.

Nope. My doctor just told me not to drink caffeine in excess. he said one or two caffeinated beverages wasn't goign to hurt the baby. Too much of course will speed up the hr.

I am also craving sweet tea like crazy! They can't make it sweet enough up here in NJ!

I have 1 or 2 cups of regular coffee every morning. And some days I have sweet tea or soda in the afternoon. Sometimes I feel like I am exceeding my limit, but I don't know what else to do... With a busy full time job, 2 kids, and our house up for sale - I need something to keep me going. I've been so exhausted this entire pregnancy!

LOL, I got "Sweet Tea" at Moe's with my lunch yesterday and still had to add 4 packs of sugar to it! I think I might want to wean myself off this sweet tea habit.

I have an iced coffee every morning -- doc says it's okay in moderation (especially because the ice waters it down).
