Anyone have a LO with Colic? I think this is what Laila has.. About 3 wks ago she started with the non stop screaming for hours and hours. Its gotten a tad better but some days are worse than others. I am half breastfeeding (well pumping and giving it to her) and half formula. She gets formula mostly at night and when we are out. Her fussiness is mostly at night. She will be hungry and cry through her feeding or flat out refuse til her pain goes away or she is absolutley startving to death. I have tried cutting things out of my diet and that dont seem to help. she just has ALOT of gas. We tried the mycolin drops and Gripe water. Helps a little but she is still so miserable :(

We started with Biogaia probiotic last night since gripe waters and all other methods have failed. He screams from 7pm-11pm every night...I'll try anything at this point...

I gave my son Bio Gaia when he was a toddler. I really think it helped to eradicate his milk allergy! It's awesome for eczema too!

It's a probiotic. $30 at Walgreens. Jack's been on it for 4 days and I actually see a difference forming!

I had a DD in Nov 2010, so she just turned 1 yr old, but I saw this post while lurking (I actually havent been on IV in ages, haha, but decided to visit the new Nov babies) :) and just wanted to comment. She was a VERY colicky newborn. Didn't sleep like a normal newborn, screamed ALL the time... I even took her to the ER one night around Christmas because I knew something had to be wrong with her for her to scream until she was blue in the face! She would scream so hard she'd pass out in my arms. Poor thing. Anyways.... The doctor just kept saying the same thing -- colic. Well, I did my own research online and FINALLY at around 3 mos old, after trying everything (except going to formula... she was EBF and I was so scared she had a milk intolerance and that I'd have to stop BFing) I had a hunch she might have silent reflux. She never spit up so I just never thought of reflux, but the website www.refluxrebels.com has a test you can take to see if your baby might have it.

Anyways, we put her on Prevacid and within a week she was a COMPLETELY new baby. She started sleeping and was actually happy! She's still a crab sometimes, but I think thats mostly due to teething. :)

Just wanted to share my experience to help another mama!

During those first 3 mos, I just did whatever I could to get her to sleep, which mostly included wrapping her up tight in the Moby wrap and bouncing on a yoga ball! Spent many many hours doing that!

So glad you found a solution!! Last night Jack didn't really cry at all and it's his 4th day on Biogaia. I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke. If a $30 probiotic is what it takes, well worth it :) It's the only thing out there that has scientifically proven to work. 74% of parents reported a significant difference in a week where gripe water did nothing and there is no research to prove anything about it. My happitummi wrap should be here today too. :)
