How long does the "lochia" last?

I can't remember how long I bled after DD and DS, but this is going on two weeks and I'm so over it. It's not red red anymore, but it's just the longest period, lingering too long. Blech. I recall buying pads to use after DS was born, but not using them and throwing them away (perhaps the hospital gave me a crazy number to go home with?). But this time I've used the hospital ones and I've bought two packages of pads.

I think it lasted almost 3 weeks with DS. It was not heavy bleeding or bright red, but seemed to last forever. I am at 2 weeks post pardum and it is almost done, but still need a light pad. I am so ready for the bleeding to stop also. I hate this part of pregnancy.

I had bleeding over 4 weeks. Then spotting of the "lochia" until about 6 weeks. I haven't had any more spotting in a couple of days since my 6 week check on wednesday.

It's definitely one of the things about pregnancy that I forgot! It's just frustrating and I never feel clean.
