After a day of going nuts on craigslist and freecycle, it looks like by Sunday night - our nursery will almost be fully stocked. I found a crib plus mattress for free. We already had a mattress, but if this free one works, we can return it to target for more $$ to buy other items. We'll have a portable sleeper thingy, a bouncer, a swing, a papassan chair, a changing table and several infant toys. I figure the only "need to have's" left are a high-chair, pack 'n' play/bassinett, stroller and car seat. Yea! i'm finally feel productive and like this baby just might get here some day. It's going to be a busy weekend though running aroudn to get all this stuff. Nothing is going to match, but oh well.

Sounds awesome! You are inspiring me to post a request on freecycle. and as far as them not matching.. if you or DH get crafty, you can always paint/stain them to match.

Yay - that's great! I love freecycle. When we had DD we got her changing station and dresser from there. DH sanded them down and re-varnished them and they looked good as new. I love bargains!

I've been nesting on and off. There is SO much we need to do in the house, but I only have Sunday and Wednesday off and DH works the opposite shift during the week. We are moving DSD down stairs, so we need to "build" a bedroom for her and get her old room set up for baby girl. I'm also still not sure if my mom is throwing us another shower or not, so we don't have a crib or anything. I'm so anxious to get things going.

I didn't get any good deals so I spent like 1200 this week but I bought crib, dresser/changer, bedding set, pump, bottles, a book case, tons of clothes, case of diapers, room decor items. Now I am just waiting on everything to get here so that we can purchase the paint to match the bedding and put everything together. We already purchased the carseat and bouncer/swing. So the only big item left to purchase is the stroller. My mom is throwing us a shower the first weekend of August so I am waiting to purchase anything else until then cause we might get enough gift cards to purchase the stoller that we want its almost 200.00. I figured small stuff like bottles bruch and tub people might purchase so I will leave some stuff for people to buy, lol. But knowing I could be induced as early as the 11th of august made me need to buy stuff cause thats only just over 6 weeks away and one of those weeks we will be on vacation.

After this weekend, I'm not too happy with freecycle. I was supposed to get a crib Saturday, but after driving the hour to this woman's house, she wasn't there. Then, her son was there, but the crib, which was supposed to be on her porch, was locked in her bedroom and he couldn't get it out and he didn't know anything about her giving us the crib. And, on top of it, I had ask her several times if the crib was smoke-free because me ds has a severe allergy to nicotine dust, and she kept saying yes, ofcourse it is. But, when the son opened the door, a plume od smoke came out and the whole house reeked. That was a waste of $25 in gas and waking up early on a saturday. I did get the changing table and some other items though from other people.
