My OB made a mistake...

It's a GIRL! I had an ultrasound yesterday and, after 'knowing' that it's a boy for the last month, the tech looked at us and said "Um, your dr was wrong. That is most definitely a girl!" Luckily I hadn't started my registry yet or purchased anything. Unlike my MIL. When I told her about the 'mistake' today I found out that she's been shopping her little heart out...for boy stuff! lol Oh well, she'll have fun exchanging it all for little girl stuff.

Although he's always said that he doesn't care if it's a boy or girl, as long as it's healthy, it became really apparent last night that my sweetie wanted a girl. He'd never admit to having a preference but he actually started talking really positively about the baby, which he hadn't done AT ALL until finding out that it's a girl instead of a boy.

Here name is Katherine Amanda and we'll call her Kitty. :-)

Wow! These stories always freak me out that my OB got it wrong too. I am glad that you aren't too upset over the change and that DH seems to be more involved. MY DH was a little disappointed to find out that we are having a boy and I know he would be ecstatic if we ended up with another little girl!

We are going back in 10 weeks to follow up on a small spot they saw on her heart but I'm convinced she's a she. It was totally obvious, even to my untrained eye.

The spot they want to follow up on appears to be nothing to worry about. I don't remember what they called it but it's basically a calcium deposit(?). They said that even if it doesn't go away it wouldn't cause any problems. It basically like a freckle or birthmark on the skin. Purely cosmetic. I'm not going to stress about it. She really emphasized that it's nothing to be concerned about.

Yeah, when they do not follow up for 10 weeks, it usually means it is nothing to be too concerned about.

If they're waiting ten weeks you have nothing to be concerned about.
