Next week we will be celebrating our one year anniversary of our adoption of our two oldest sons.  They have been with us for three years now and an official family for one!!!!

What does your family do to celebrate your adoption day (if anything)?

My mom is having surgery on our adoption day so we will do something small just our family to celebrate.  We live close to Hershey Park (yes the candy company).  They have an amusement park as well as doing tours of the chocolate factory.  It should be a fun day for the family.  We are looking at doing that one day next week.

That sounds like a nice way to spend the day. DH really wants us to visit the Hershey factory one of these days.

Congratulations!

Our adoption day is coming up here in the next month and I was thinking about what we could do.  In reality, our 5 kids ALL have birthdays between now and the end of October so we'll be celebrating plenty.  I'm not sure we'll do anything to call out adoption day.

I know last year we were thinking about it and decided if we did do anything we'd do family day instead of gotcha day or something else.  It is a day we became a family of 4 instead of 3 and its a day for all of us to share.  This only matters because we have a bio son who has one birthday - no gotcha day, adoption day, etc. - and we don't want one kid to have 3 days to celebrate when he gets one.  So we'll celebrate family days if we celebrate anything.
