Don't have a lot of info. Basically, he showed up to contest the adoption. The judge said that he won't hear arguments about custody until paternity is established, so he ordered DNA testing on Ky and the birthfather. As soon as results are in, there will be another court date set. That's all the info I have right now. Jason and I are holding up ok (sort of, he's holding up better than I am) and we're in contact with our lawyer for more info and advice. Thanks for all of the prayers and thoughts. I guess keep 'em up.

Jo Anna - My heart is aching for you but I will send all the positive energy your way that I can. I just got off the phone with my CW being reassured for an hour about my adoption. Lacy's BMom is suddenly calling again after MONTHS of no interest at all and we have to have several visits with her before the TPR hearing next month. I was told this is very typical with these disfunctional people - that they're REactive instead of PROactive when faced with deadlines looming. I don't know if this is the case with your BDad situation or if he's remotely suitable, but if not, the courts will ultimately (I pray) do what's best for your child. Period. Unfortunately, we can intellectualize it all we want but if our family is vulnerable - it's EMOTIONAL, not intellectual. Keep the faith - Susan

OMG, JoAnna. I am truly stunned and don't know what to say.

I guess first, don't panic until paternity is established (sounds like the judge has a good head on his/her shoulders). Then, I'd say to tell your attorney you are prepared to fight like HECK for what is best for Kyleigh which is to be in a loving, stable home with TWO parents who love her unconditionally and HAVE DONE SO from day one.

Gosh, I will send all my thoughts & prayers to Northern VA for you, honey! And even though Tucker can only say, "Amen" when we (i.e. I) say his night time prayer each night, I will have him say an extra one tomorrow night for little Kyleigh. (((((hugs))))) - Kelly (Mommy to Tucker, 18 mos old)

Wow, I really don't know what to say about that, except that you will all be in our prayers. Try not to stress about it *too* much (yeah, right! I know!! lol) and just work it day by day.

Joanna WOW!! My thoughts and prayers go out to you. I can only imagine what you are going through. My sister had a similar situation happen to her, my nieces birthfather and birthgrandmother showed up at court to try to get her back. The judge made the decision after his parterity was astablished that Rebecca be placed with my sister and brother-in-law and finally was adopted!!! God be with you and your family, think possitive and God will do good!! Denise

I was so hoping that he wouldn't show up. I'm sorry that he did. Your daughter is so adorable, she will continue to be in my prayers.
