This month seems so busy, and I can't keep up!Can we have a checkin?Tell us what's going on..whether you are starting the process, waiting, matched, or about Mommyhood. Just an update :)
Andrew is almost 14 months old! We have been a forever family since September and we are soo enjoying our summer with Andrew! We have a great relationship with his birthmom and her family! I am so thankful for them. My husband and I are both teachers so we only have 4 more weeks left of our break! UGH.. But thats okay. We have a great summer and will continue to do so.
I hope your meeting goes well on Monday. Our boys are just days apart so I have been reading with interest your situation! I wish we lived closer together so we get to know each other better! :-)
Good thinkin', Adrienne! I'm so, so happy to hear that life is good. Hopefully birth-grandma will meet you and realize that Riley is thriving and is SO SO very loved, and drop all this nonsense. ((hugs))
Jen - WOW! How exciting!!! Please keep us posted!
Well, Eliana is now 10 months old and is a total riot. We brought her home in September, and its so hard to believe that her first birthday is NEXT MONTH!!! Ugh. She is going to pretty much all "big people" food, is cruising, standing up, and is able to push her Playskool bike/push toy thing (lol, I don't know what the heck its called, lol).... I bet she'll be walking in 2-3 weeks. WAH! What happened to my BABY?! Jeesh. But omg, she is so much fun. She smiles all the time, she has 4 words: "Mama", "Dada", "Nana", and "Gog" (aka, Dog. lol). She also just learned how to blow kisses. Her hand is backwards, and she is always a slobbery mess (I think she is currently getting 4 teeth, eek!), but its so stinkin' cute. We are having a blast with her :)
I myself am not doing so great. My last diagnostic lap was a month ago, and after 4 years and 9 months of TTC, its over. My insides are such a disaster that there isn't anything else we can do. My doc (who I ADORE) said, "You know I don't take this step lightly, and you know I wouldn't bring it up if I didn't think we've tried everything. But there comes a point when you have to put your quality of life first. Karen, you can't keep going like this. You should be enjoying Brian and Ellie, not being in severe pain and having to make nearly monthly trips to the ER. You deserve a better life than that." So, my total abdominal hysterectomy w/bilateral oophorectomy is right after Ellie's birthday. Physically I'm okay (he started me on Danazol, which seems to be working great). But emotionally, I am a total wreck. I'm seeing two counselors, switching anti-depressants, and am on my 3rd anti-anxiety med. Like I said...a wreck.
BUT - trying my best to focus on the two biggest blessings in my life: Brian and Ellie. <3
Last Monday we had our last post placement visit with the social worker.

Well, Evan is doing great, he'll be 3 in September, and we're sending our updates to his birthmom, but haven't heard from her at all. We know she picks up the updates as soon as they get to the attorney's office, so that's good news.
We are matched with a birthmom who is due with a little girl July 24th, but could really deliver any day now. There's lots more drama & more at risk with this scenario than we had with Evan, so we just keep praying for the strength to get through this, whatever the outcome may be. We've made our hotel reservation & have my parents coming to stay with Evan...hoping for the best, bracing for the rest! :)
Hanging out with my 2 kiddos (ages 4.5 and 3 yrs this month).
We have been matched and c-section has been scheduled for Wednesday the 14th!
Started adoption March 2008
We are finishing up some more paperwork (signing contract, health forms, etc) and should be having homestudy visit #1 within the next few weeks. We are busy painting the house (we have not touched any paint since we moved in...needed to be done) and waiting on the guy to finish the drywall in what will be the nursery..then we have my IL's neighbor who is going to paint the baby's room for us as his gift to us (he's a professional painter)...then we can set up the nursery furniture..since it's been sitting in the house for months now :) We know what we are going to do in the nursery (monkeys)..
Other than that I am finishing up the semester at school and hoping...praying...that we can get to OH to see a good friend :) but the money just isn't there.
Other than that..not much is going on.
