Thanks, Kelly. Yes, the official due date is July 24. Despite the baby being "engaged" (in the birth canal) a couple of weeks ago, she is not now. PBM is dilated to 2 cm & holding. Lots of contractions, no progression. Doc says if baby doesn't arrive before Aug 1, that will be induction day.
We had so much "panic" trying to get the paperwork done in time, that it seems the days are dragging now that the homestudy & everything else is done. I've had the baby's suitcase packed for over a month & I've basically been living out of my suitcase since July 4.
We had a couple of weeks with minimal contact with PBM that had me a little freaked out, but she's back to where she was emotionally around mid-June. She actually called me today & said they were shopping for gifts for us & baby "M" (the first name we've chosen). This was the most personal way she's referred to the baby ever with us. She spent 45 min on the phone with me Sat. reviewing what I'll need to do in terms of doc appts, vaccinations, bringing extra blankets to the hospital, etc.
The plan is for her SIL to call me when PBM is in labor. At that point, I'll call my mom in CT, and get her on the next flight to ATL. Once she arrives, I begin the 13.5 hr drive to PBM. DH will be flying in from his military assignment in CO. PBM does not want us in the delivery room, but wants us there ASAP. Kim (Nathan's mom) is my Brooke.
Crazy, crazy days...all calmed by prayer! This process has been far more nerve-wracking than E's was...and I don't see the 2 weeks after baby is born being any less nerve-wracking.
Thank you for checking in...another round on the coaster begins!!
