Kellie you are absolutely right - I wonder if they controlled for parental IQ? It said it controlled for IQ, but who knows how they did that.

Having fostered several who were behind, I can definitely attest to the transition kids can make when they have basic care and love. Our daughter was delayed so severely when we got her that we thought she may have had downs syndrome - she even had facial characteristics. All of that was a result of the neglect from her parents and now you'd never be able to match her picture with the ones from when she just came to us.
