Well, we thought things were going along just fine, even tho we haven't heard anything from Maryland at all, or anything about Sarah from anyone. Well, two of the people that we used for references informed hubby the other day that they got letters in the mail requesting more info. (one guy just gave a very basic letter, and the other one hadn't even submit one yet - our CW had told us that if she needed one from him, she would let us know. The third reference, one of my close friends, gave us a great letter months ago, that I passed on to the CW, and as far as I know, she hasn't received any letter asking for more.)
Anyway....when I asked hubby where the letters came from, he said NYS. What?! I figured that since the homestudy was complete in January, that this request would have been coming from either MD or the ICPC. But here in NY?!?! UGH!! Does that mean it hasn't even left here yet? Or could it have made it further, but been returned for more info? And, if that's the case, it that a good sign, bad sign, indifferent sign? lol Sorry for all the questions, but that just blew my mind that after two months they finally come back asking for more info........while all the while this was supposed to be a rush/emergent process!
As for how is Sarah doing? No clue!!! Since she was returned to her father, I haven't heard ANYTHING from the family, except for questions about when are we going to be approved/when will we get her/etc. It's very frustrating not knowing anything!!!!
On a lighter note, this week I have talked to two different friends of mine that I simply hadn't spoken with in m-o-n-t-h-s. They blew me away when they started asking about how things were going with the whole process! Not only did they remember, but they sincerely wanted to know. It made me feel fantastic to know that I have such a support system - and it's apparently lareger than I ever realized.

Hang in there!
Dawn
So sorry to hear no news on Sarah AND that there are additional requests for info from NY (WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?!?!?!?!?!). Sorry I cannot offer any advice having never worked through the state system. I am not sure what that means to your process. Hopefully someone here can lend some personal experience to better answer your questions ...
I hope & pray that Sarah is well with BFather and that soon she will be a part of your immediate family. Let me know what I can do to help, although it sounds like you have good support from friends : ) HUGS - Kelly (Mommy to Tucker, 18 mos old)
