First, let me start with a big "Thank you" to Kim for being my Brooke. Second, I will extend apologies for not getting on here sooner to update you all. Morgan was born 7/29, healthy, 7lbs, 5oz, 19 inches long. GREAT set of lungs, LOL. She is, in two words, breathtakingly beautiful. She was released from the hospital to our custody on Wednesday, 8/4. The process, both before & after Morgan's birth, can be summed up in one word: DRAMA!!!

I'm choosing to focus on the fact that she is healthy, and the birthparents seem very secure in their decision to place. They are grieving, but continue to reiterate their confidence in placing her. TPR papers were signed 7/31, and the revocation period ends at 12:01am this coming Monday. ICPC paperwork was just filed yesterday in AR, and now we'll wait for GA to pass their blessing, and we can go home. Our court date for finalization is 8/20, so we will come back to the area then. If you feel a gale force wind that day, it will be me exhaling. (There'll be a smaller breeze on Monday ;) ).

Drama has come from a lawyer we tried to NOT work with, but are tied to due to our agency, and bmom's expectations of us while Morgan was kept in the hospital. I will not go into details, but we have been praying like crazy for the strength to endure all of the mayhem while staying positive & keeping a civil tongue (I am Irish & German, and they've had my Irish up a few times). We were able to stay in the hospital with our names (us & baby) unlisted and frequent room changes with a security watch due to extended family concerns. I am still in-state, obviously, (not ready to go to jail ;) ) but many hours from where Morgan was born, and in a secure location. Craziness. Looking forward to speaking with a counselor later to decide how/what/how much to tell Morgan about her family of origin when the time comes. Seriously, this saga would've made a nun drink, LOL...I plan on having one once the revocation period has passed.

Thank you all for your P&PT. I'll post more pics after Monday :D

LOL, the levity is appreciated, and something the nurses & I joked about...kind of like when Hopkins & Boston Med have the cameras around every corner, we were looking for someone from Lifetime TV. This hospital was AMAZING. They handled everything like pros & took all the drama in stride. There is good amid the craziness...but it's a doozy of a story, hahaha!

Dang, for some reason, I want to know the crazy details...... how scary sounding from this end, but praise the Lord it sounds like at least the birthparents are level-headed?
