tingling sensation in one breast a few days after a bite while baby has hand foot and mouth virus

About a week ago my son bit me during a feed. He had hand foot and mouth/ coxsackie virus at the time. I, in the mean time, have developed a vaginal yeast infection. I have been experiencing a tingling sensation in the breast that was bitten. Its not painful and not all that often either. My midwife ordered my an antibiotic in case its a bacterial infection. If its bacterial, wouldn't I have other symptoms? I am hesitant to take the meds because I have a history of yeast infections with one currently. What are your thoughts or advice? I am wondering if it sounds more like a bacterial infection or yeast?
Thank you!
Teresa
OUCH! If you have a vaginal yeast infection yeast in the breast would be the number one suspect if you were having pain. A bite or break in the skin could set you up for either yeast or bacterial infection. However, if you aren’t having any pain why treat? Are you already being treated for the vaginal yeast? What are you taking for that?

Yes, I would think it would get worse. It won't hurt though to take some acidophilus and possibly rinse the bite area with a salt wqter solution until it heals if the skin is broken. The salt water discourages yeast and bacteria. It's 1/3 teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water. Just dip the nips after breastfeeding and then pat dry. Make fresh solution each time you use it.
Hope nothing develops
