Breastfeeding + IV Sedation?

I'm doing Essure next month. It's new to my doc's office, so they do it in the hospital for now. I was told I wouldn't be completely out, but I would have IV sedation, be really loopy, and that I won't remember anything.

Any idea if I have to avoid breastfeeding for a certain period after the procedure? I was planning on pumping to build a supply for a few weeks beforehand. That way he'll have EBM that day, and however long I have to abstain.

Is there any way you might be able to contact your dr. and ask for the specific names of the meds that will be used? It's unlikely you'll need to pump and dump at all except for the time you're actually incapacitated but we'd be happy to provide more specific information to set your mind at ease.

How was the procedure for you? I haven't actually talked to anyone who has had it done.
Thanks for the info. I'll ask about the general with a short half life.

When I go in for my pre-op, I'll ask about the meds. I could ask about bf'ing, too, but you ladies are much more helpful on that front. :)

The procedure was very easy (being under general I don't remember it at all!)
