Thanks for stopping by, Brooke!

Just to make sure I understand, is your main concern the amount of pumped milk she's consuming for the sitter? I definitely think it's appropriate for a 7 month old to be eating solids if she's ready (which it sounds like she is). I wouldn't worry much about that. Just make sure to keep the portions on the smaller side and nurse (or bottlefeed) first so that breastmilk continues to be the primary source of nutrition until the 12 month mark. Some working moms do give most of the solids to the sitter to feed so that they can just focus on nursing directly when they're with baby. It sounds like everything you're doing with respect to solids is right on track.

Can you give us some more detail about your nursing and pumping patterns? Taking a 5-6 ounce bottle is HUGE, way more than we'd see most breastfed babies take. Most other babies take more like a 3 ounce bottle every 3 hours. Are you continuing to use only the slowest flow bottle nipple? Do you know if the sitter makes an effort to feed her the bottle slowly, as opposed to letting her chug? Have you tried ratcheting back the amount in a bottle just a smidge to see if baby will be satisfied with a slightly smaller amount to take the pumping pressure off of you?

Being able to pump 4 ounces at a clip is great too. Did you know the average mom can pump 1-3 ounces per session (both breasts combined)? Can you tell us a bit more about the hours you're away, how long she's at the sitter, when you typically pump and so forth and we can brainstorm a bit more. Hang in there, mama!
