I've been having a heck of a time with a milk blister on my right side that I did open, but has never really gone away.

I personally think doing the larger dose once daily is worth a shot. IMO it's better than not trying it at all. Many moms here have had a really good experience with the lecithin so I'd go with whatever you can remember to take.

This LLL tear sheet just suggests two tablespoons per day: http://www.llli.org/docs/0000000000000001WAB/WAB_Tear_sheet_Toolkit/17_dealingwithplugsblebs.pdf

Jack Newman's handout says one capsules 3-4 times per day: http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/22pdf.pdf

Sorry I can't give you anything more definitive but most other sources out there link back to kellymom or Jack Newman as the source of their info. Feel better!

Hey there-

I know you posted this a while ago, but I didn't see anyone who had taken lecithin reply. I used it when I was about 6 months into bfing. I had milk blisters on both breasts, popped them, was on antibiotics, pumping like a mad women, etc...and the ONLY thing that made them (and the constant infection) go away was Lecithin-- and yes at the beginning you do have to take the recommended does but as you see your symptoms go away you can cut back.
