Ugh, I"m so sorry you're feeling so poorly, Amy. Yes, being sick and dehydrated can definitely cause a supply dip. Offering the breast frequently and pumping between feedings are great ways to get your supply back up. Have you considered using some fenugreek for a little boost? http://www.kellymom.com/herbal/milksupply/fenugreek.html

It's also possible that baby caught a touch of the bug you had and is feeling agitated because she doesn't feel well. Nursing will help her through it, if she is sick, and she'll get all the great antibodies your body already has to the bug.

Babies often breastfeed more when mom is ill. Is it b/c her supply is dipping? Is it b/c the baby is also ill and trying to access the antibodies, Is it b/c the baby is bored b/c mom can't be as 'entertaining' as usual..................hmmmmm............or a combination of all of the above. Don't really know but I do know that moms have been successfully breastfeeding through illnesses since the beginning of mothers and babies. The flexibility you are exhibiting is the key to maintaining a supply. Don't forget breastfeeding has been around longer than breast pumps and formula.............;-)
