11 months and only an ounce at "school"

I hope no one has asked a similar question. I did look to see. A little background. My son goes to the children's center I also work at. He was just in an older infant room about three and a half weeks ago. I nurse him first thing in the morning and sent two four ounce bottles to school, which he would drink all of. I would nurse him myself if he was hungry when I took my pumping break, instead of pumping. Each time he'd eat or take all of his bottle. I decided to try him on some cups since he was getting ready to move into the pre-toddler room and going on ONE year!!! (birthday is October 19)

Hi Chloe!

How much table food is he getting? We often see baby getting much more than necessary, so he's not hungry for breastmilk. Is he only getting solids while at school, or also at home with you?

Have you tried a straw cup at all? Does he accept another liquid in a cup better (juice, water, etc)? Has anyone tried a bm slushie?

How much does he nurse when you are together? Just the one time at 6:30am, once

Oh, sorry Jill!!

Do you know how big the serving sized of the solids are while he's at school? Solids, even at 11 months, are not supposed to be for nutritional value at this point-they are for fun and just tastes. I wonder if cutting back the amounts he gets would have him drink more?

The minimum we'd want an 11 month old to nurse in 24 hours is 4x. So, if they're 'good' sessions I think you're fine.

This is a schedule of meals put out by an LC with the expectation that mom is not going to wean at a year. You'll notice that the amounts of food are still rather small...tablespoons, AND a 3rd meal isn't even here.

Not exactly what the portions of food are. He gets a healthy amount though. And there is really no way I can cut back that without a doctors note because they have to be offered what the food program requires. I suppose if the 4x is ok, then we should be alright. Maybe I should be happy he prefers me! I always offer me before meals on the weekends too. Especially since he is a hearty eater and I'd rather he fill up on BM then table food. I know he will eat what he wants still after he
