7 months, solids, poop....

hi all - it seems the only questions i have this time around are all diaper-related, ugh!
for the first six months of her life, my LO had major gross stinky explosive often-green and mucousy poop. i had major oversupply w/my first but really felt like i had it under control w/her, was basically on 2 to 3 hour blocks from the get-go and while my letdown was still forceful she didn't have any trouble dealing with it after the first few weeks and my supply seemed (and seems) well-regulated. my ped is BF-friendly but i wouldn't consider her knowlegable (she was very impressed that i BFed DS to 15 months??). anyhow, since DD has no troubles gaining (97th %ile!) and no obvious tummy discomfort, she said we don't need to worry about it.
tried to start solids at 6 months, she wasn't interested. offered on and off over the last month and a half, and in the last week or two she's figured it out and so we do solids once a day. i would say the most she's eaten in a sitting is two tablespoons, though it's usually a bit less.
thing is, now she is nearly constipated. not quite, but just that little bit of solids (and i've been trying to do non-constipating things, not a lot of rice, etc) has given her these formed poops (not rock hard yet, but clearly a lot of work to produce!). my two year old has never had such solid poops in his life!
i decided to give her some straight prune juice daily, but confess i'm a bit worried - if just one 'meal' of solids has this effect, what will happen over the coming months as we increase? (i assume we'll add in a second meal at 9ish months and a third at a year)
any advice on preventative maintenance? any chance that this combo (super weird poop just BF and then immediate constipation w/solids) indicates some kind of allergy or something?
thanks =) seems like there's always something to be neurotic about...
