Can milk imbalance occur this late ?

Hi All,

I just wanted to get a quick opinion on this. My DS who will be 18 months old in another 14 days had a diarrhea a week back but he got better. During that time he was totally living on breastmilk and hence increased my supply to a level where I started feeling full after 3 hours.

And he is still nursing 2-5 times in the night. Yesterday and today, he seems to have a green frothy runny poo in the morning for a couple of times and then his poops for the rest of the day are completely normal. Infact today he had some blood in them.

I am taking him to doctor today to get a motion test to see if it is remains of what he had last week. But this also sounds too much like the milk imbalance, so just wanted your opinion on the topic.

It could be either, in my mind. I'd probably do a lose block schedule and nurse two sessions on one side for a while. Poor little guy, let us know how the test goes!

Thanks Theresa! I will try the Loose block schedule. The motion test is going to take about 72 hrs to get any results :(

Pedi was absolutely positive that this is possibly the remains of the virus he had last week.

But I will still try the blocks, I am such an overproducer and my body just needs a little bit of an hint to start producing that will be enough to feed a village. So it will definitely not hurt.
