So my lo is just over six months old and to this point haven't really had too many issues with bf.. however after reading many posts i feel like i am an odd ball.. my lo loves his schedule and pretty much sticks to that... he eats every 4 hours except at night he sttn.. his schedule goes a little something like this.. 7 am wake and nurse, if i am at home he nurses at 11am if i am at work he gets a 9oz bottle.. sometimes he takes it all sometimes he only eats 7 oz... when i am at work i pump when he eats and i usually get 10 oz (5 off each side).. this is the same for his 3 oclock feeding..

Wow, those are some pump outputs! Yowza :) You definitely have a ton of milk, mama!

I wouldn't change a thing if his diaper output is good and he's gaining weight well. You don't mention any issues with those, so I assume they're okay? Most babies would nurse more often, but it sounds like he's getting lots of milk in those few sessions. So, I think you're fine.

Feel free to offer more often, but I think you're doing great!

Now, if you're looking to deal with the oversupply, we do have ways to do that. Milk production is supply and demand, so if you're pumping a ton, that is going to keep your supply up. Can you SLOWLY start blocking? http://mother-2-mother.com/blockfeeding.htm

Does that answer your questions, or am I missing anything? Keep up the good work!

Thank you soo much for the help... I tried to do the block feeding yesterday and my LO was NOT having it.. he did not like not having both breast to feed, he wanted a full belly and I guess that the one side just didn't do it for him. So I was talking to another nursing mom and she said that maybe cabbage would help out and she recommended wearing cabbage for about four-five hours at night and that would help dry up a little bit of the oversupply.. i am comfortable with my supply during the day its just in the morning my boobs are HUGE and rock hard and i thought by six months in they would be a little more adapted to his needs. THanks again for your help having someone to lean on definitely makes nursing easier!!!
