With all this sinus crud . . . . I got a cold at Christmas time.
Are you doing neti pot rinses?
It sounds like you might have some underlying inflammation.
In addition to the things already mentioned are you doing anything to boost immune system?
Garlic is one of my go to at the first sign of illness, but it is also an excellent immune booster. I just slice cloves and take them raw. You can take the capsules if you prefer, but some of those vary in effectiveness.
Acidophilus is a good immune booster and you should definitely be taking it with the antibiotics, but I would continue.
Echinacea is another immune system booster that is a good bet. Do 10 days on 3-4 off then 10 days on.
There are other good immune system boosters too, those are just a couple that come to mind and are some of my "go to" things.
Lastly I have recently been reading a lot about vitamin D helping to strengthen the immune system. The reports are a little conflicting, but IF you do not take a multi and are not in the sun much (or you are completely slathered with sunscreen when you are) you might want to add some vitamin D.
Hope you are feeling better soon.

I would suggest boosting your immune system as well. Taking antibiotics for minor illnesses actually weakens your immune system and makes you more likely to get an illness, make it come back and get worse. You can always try high potency multivitamins, salt/ water draining through your sinuses and avoid blowing your nose too often. One of the reason why people even get sinus infections is because they're trying to force out the mucus from their body too often, which irritates the tissue, causes swelling and eventually infection.
Your doctor will continue to offer you antibiotic after antibiotic until you've used them all, which is pretty much impossible. They do it for the paycheck; the same reason why the FDA approves dangerous drugs for children and the elderly as well. Try to use safe at home regimens and pay close attention to what your body is doing and why.
