I took my DD (almost 18 months) to the dentist today for what I thought were cracked teeth. It turns out she has some decay instead.

Just wanted to say that my sister's kids were breastfed about the same length of time as yours. She was strict about brushing their teeth. Her daughter already has two capped teeth and 4 other cavities. The dentist told her the same thiing. It was something in utero that caused it. She's only four, and they already have told her, it will probably happen to the two year old too. (he's already showing signs of tooth decay)

Don't worry. Some people really can't help their teeth problems.

some info for you:

firstly, there is a big difference between bottle feeding and breastfeeding at night.

when a baby bottle feeds, milk (formula) pools in the mouth until the baby swallows it.
