Pooping a lot at 10 mos?

DS is 10 months old & is still pooping really frequently (often 6x/day!). I thought it would not be this often at this point... About half the time, it's more solid poop (like I'd expect), and the other half it's more like a younger bf baby's poop (even though he grunts around like it's difficult to pass).

He nurses 4 times per day, and for solids: has a few (literally only a few) Cheerios after nursing in the am when DD is eating breakfast, oatmeal mixed with fruit at lunch time, and again at dinner time. He also usually has some Gerber Puffs at lunch/dinner time and an occasional cracker or Mum Mum. He really doesn't get any table food, as he's allergic to dairy (had a reaction to milk-based formula, yogurt, and biter biscuits with milk in the ingredients) and so much of what we eat has cheese in it. Other plain things I've given him have been promptly spit out. And, he looks disgusted when trying any veggies or meat baby foods & then refuses the spoon.

So, I'm wondering if this is normal? Could it be due to the fact that he's bf & mostly eats fruits in addition to that?

I should also add that part of the reason I ask is that he periodically gets a diaper rash, and the constant pooping does not help anything. Uggg...

My daughter only recently started going less and she's almost 15 months. But she mostly refuses to eat solids and still nurses every 2 hours. She started getting rashes when we started solids.

Has he ever had a problem with the dairy you eat?

Thanks for the responses.... I guess it must just be normal for him - it just seemed weird that if anything, it was getting to be more frequent.
