Could 1-2 tablespoons of pureed veggies interfere with the amount DD is bf'ing?

DD will be 9 months old next week.

I doubt that the one or two tablespoons is effecting intake that much. There could be a number of reasons for the engorgment. For instance I usually get a bit engorged for a couple days right after a growth spurt.

If you are concerned they you can certainly back off on the solids a bit and see if you notice a difference but I do not think it is necessary.

I know we have mentioned this to you and you have made a decision to feed what you are comfortable with but I do want to point out for lurkers that purees are not necessary when introducing solids after the age of six months.

"Older babies who are just starting solids may prefer chunkier finger foods, instead of mashed or moistened food. The baby who starts solids at 6 months or older doesn't need pureed or liquefied foods. You may want to just start with finger foods, and let her mostly feed herself.

How chunky can the food be? If your baby is not gagging & choking on the food, then the texture (table foods, etc.) is fine. Watch carefully the first few times your baby tries a new food to make sure she can handle it without gagging or choking. Always supervise your child when she is eating finger foods."
