Seriously... again?

I nursed my DD for 21 mo and I am aiming to do the same or longer with my DS (will be one on Feb 20). I never got mastitis with my first and I had it once with DS when he was 8 months and now at almost a year of age I have it yet again. It seems like it comes out of nowhere and hits so hard and so fast. I go from fine to extreme pain, red skin, fever and whole body aches unable to move. Is there anything I can do to prevent this in the future?
Thanks

Have you considered taking a lecithin supplement prophylactically to avoid the plugged ducts that lead to mastitis? Many moms here have had a good experience with that: http://www.kellymom.com/nutrition/vitamins/lecithin.html
