Sore nipples with pumping

My daughter is 9.5 months. I work full-time and was pumping twice a day to provide just enough milk for her at daycare (supplemented a little with formula). The rest of the time when I am at home I breastfeed. My problem now is that I have sore nipples from the pulling on the breastpump and they have started to crack quite badly. I have therefore stopped pumping on one side to try and help it heal and only feed my daughter on this side when I am home. I have noticed that my milk production has decrease because of this and am concerned that once it heals and I then try to continue to pump I'm not going to get enough. I really want to continue the breastfeeding until she's one (which I did with my son) but am finding it so difficult to pump enough for her and especially with it hurting so much. Any suggestions?

Hmmm...if there is pain where there used to not be pain, thrush is usually a good guess: http://breastfeeding.hypermart.net/thrush.html

Are you using APNO for the pain at all? http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/nipplehealing.html

Take a look and follow up, okay?

Can you let us know what type of pump you're using?
