I just cannot figure my kid out.
Sorry this one's sat for a couple days, Emily. I was hoping Kathy or someone with more personal experience with food sensitivities might be able to chime in but that hasn't happened so I guess you're stuck with me!!
I guess off the top of my head, I'd guess that the gassiness and foul BMs are associated with the dairy sensitivity still. I guess I think of myself as an adult and if I eat something that doesn't agree with me, my own symptoms would likely be gassiness and bad BMs. The fact that you had cheese 3 days in a row and the gas/BMs got worse would point me in that direction as well.
Just a few things to keep in mind: this is very likely not an actual milk allergy but more likely a sensitivity to dairy proteins. You've probably read this already but here's a good link on this and what the different is: http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/food-sensitivity.html. Also, after you consume dairy, it can take 10 days to 3 weeks for all the dairy proteins to get out of your system so it won't be an overnight fix once you eliminate the dairy again.
How have the past few days been going and have you been eating dairy or not? Sorry we didn't get to answer this sooner. I give you tons of credit for being able to stick to such a restrictive diet. You're doing an awesome thing for your baby, Emily!
Hemp ice cream, hmmm. Sounds like a little ropey to me but I'll take your word for it that it tastes good!
