hi there

my 11month old just started vomitting - I know from experience with my last - they always tell me to stop with BM and do pedialyte - I feel like I have read somewhere since then that BM is always better - what should I do on this?

Thanks!!!

The idea that Pedialyte is better then breast milk when a baby is vomiting is very outdated advice. Breast milk has been shown to be superior to pedialyte for a sick baby for a number of reasons including the fact that it contains antibodies and the fact it has nutrients that Pedialyte lacks while still being just as good at keeping a baby hydrated.

See the following link for more on BM vs Pedialyte:

Agree 100% with Charleen and definitely recommend reading that link. Pedialyte is better than FORMULA and obviously your dr.'s office only has experience with formula. However, your baby is breastfeeding and thus the Pedialyte is unnecessary.
