Weekend away from baby?

I have five children and each child had different breastfeeding issues. This time, with my newest baby, we got past the hard times and are doing great. He's 6 months old now and still breastfeeding exclusively. We haven't even done a pacifier or single bottle, or even much solid food yet! I've tried some rice cereal a couple times but he doesn't like it much.

Anyway, my question is - I have a chance to go on a fun weekend away from the kids with a friend in a couple months- something I NEVER get to do. However, I'm worried about leaving my baby for a weekend. :(
He will be 9 months old at that time though, and on solids more then breastfeeding I'm assuming.

Would it be okay to leave him with bottles (of formula since I don't have a good breastmilk stash) for the weekend while I pumped about every 4 hours? I'm assuming he'll be on an every 4 hr schedule by 9 months of age.
Part of me wants to just stay home and nurse him - I really treasure the experience and how well its going and even thinking of weaning him any time soon makes me sad. I hope to go well past 12 months, maybe as old as 2 yrs old, before weaning.

I guess I'm just looking for advice, and "yes it will be okay - go have fun!". haha
Thanks!

Thanks for all the info! :)

I definitely don't/won't put him on a schedule - I just remember from my other boys that they seemed to space out their feedings to every 4 hrs around 9-12 months of age...of course that was on formula. My first son BF'ed until 12 months old but only when I was home with him-when I was at work he had formula bottles.

Anyway, thanks again for all the advice! My first thought was to take him because I just cannot imagine being gone overnight from him! As my children have gotten older, there have been times that they have stayed at Grandma's for the week or Dh and I had a special weekend and we were without kids for a night. However, I've never left a baby under one year of age for a night or more before.
However it's a scrapbooking weekend and I just can't imagine that a 9 mo old would do well just sitting there for hours. lol I probably wouldn't get much done either. Thankfully its only about 30 min from here, so Dh could bring baby to me at some point. Maybe even for the evenings when we finish scrapbooking...hmmm.

I have a very small supply of 16 oz already. haha Just a couple experimental pumping session a couple months back. They are frozen in the deep freezer. It's probably getting time to throw them out though. I usually pump about 4 oz per session - total and that's doing both sides. I'm not sure if that's correct. That was a few months ago though, when he was about 2 months old. Maybe I can get 4 oz per side now that he eats more.
He's starting to sleep through the night now *sniff* and skipping his late night feeding (as in 11pm-midnight). That would be a good time to start pumping my supply.

I agree scrapping with a 9 month old probably would not work.

Yes indeed I am! I can't wait until the 12 month milestone now. haha

As for my weekend away - I've decided to go, but I think I'll just drive home at the end of the day and leave again in the morning rather then stay over there. It's only half an hour away from home and the cost of gas will be less then the hotel room. Then I can be with baby all night. :)
