My 7 month old is EBF and we started solids a few weeks ago.
How many times a day do you nurse
Mine is 9 months- at 7 months we were at 4x nursing a day and 3 solid meals
and we still are at the same
Mine will only nurse when she is hungry with no distractions- very hard with someone in the room!
It's so difficult at this age, isn't it? Perhaps giving momscicles would be a good way to sneak in some extra milk? Would that be an option?
Maybe you could do something special for your 2 year old when baby has to nurse? Just change up the routine for a while? A special movie or something to get him over this distractibility hump?
One 'meal' a day is all you'll want to do at this point. I know you've seen this, but it's a good place to put it for lurkers: http://www.mother-2-mother.com/samplemenus.htm
To maintain your milk, you could always try pumping if she's going a long time between nursing sessions. Try breast compressions if she falls asleep nursing. And, watch the diaper output to know if she's getting enough.
Freeze bm (an ounce or 2) in a dixie-type cup with a stick and let her eat it like a popsicle.
I'm not sure how often your baby is nursing overall in 24 hours.
Thanks for the support.
She's very likely NOT ready to wean. We know that babies don't do that before 18 months in the vast majority of cases. http://www.kellymom.com/bf/pumping/pumping_decrease.html
Are you using teething remedies at all? Perhaps that is part of it?
Yes, I'm giving her Teething Tablets, teethers, things to chew on, etc.
