Yeast/Thrush when you are NOT breastfeeding?

I'm  not a breastfeeding mama anymore but I've been having breast pain that reminds me of when I had yeast---pain and itchiness.

Is it possible to have some kind of yeast infection? I've been to the doctor once and he said I should cut down on caffeine and take Evening Primrose Oil. That's about it.

Any thoughts?

It's definitely possible to have thrush even when not breastfeeding. Are you one of those unlucky people who are prone to yeast in general? I would think that the same things that would help a breastfeeding mom beat thrush would help a non-bf mom. The first two things I'd suggest are probiotics and an OTC antifungal cream like Monistat or Lotrimin. I haven't seen any links between caffeine and thrush so that's a new one for me. There are some sources that link a high-carb or sugary diet to thrush and some moms have found cutting back on sugars does help them beat it as well.
