Hi girls..I'm looking for advice on the best prefolds out there..I am a first time cloth diapering mama and expecting number 3 in sept..I am using pockets for night time but due to the bulk I will use prefolds during the day..Anyone know the best brand and fabric type to use for prefolds? I'm having a very hard time ..I've read hemp and bamboo are great but so hard to find..I've read a few reviews on indian cotton prefolds and they seem awesome..So what do you all like best..Indian cotton, chinese cotton, hemp ,bamboo? HELP!

You really can't go wrong with cotton prefolds (Indian or Chinese). I like Green Mountain Diapers for prefolds. They are good quality and come in a variety of sizes (including a great newborn size that actually fits little ones). Even if you don't decide to stay with prefolds, they make a GREAT newborn stash because they are inexpensive so you can have lots. And they have a million uses beyond diapering (burp cloths, car seat props, changing pad, diaper doubler).

Hemp is my favorite fabric. It holds a TON of liquid, but it is more expensive. I don't have any hemp prefolds, but I do have hemp inserts for my pockets. They are very trim.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean about using prefolds due to the bulk of pockets? Prefolds are one of the bulkier diapering options. However, bulk was never a problem for me. You get used to the bubble butt, and the babies don't care.

I only really used prefolds (and fitteds) for the newborn stage, so about 2-3 months. But I LOVED our hemp prefolds, however, you can get half a dozen cotton prefolds for the price of one hemp, but they're really versitile as inserts/liners later in the game. Since they can be against baby's skin, they're great for travel (take up little space) and work well with the hybrid diaper systems that are popular now. In addition to Green Mountain Diapers, I've heard Little Lions is a great outlet for prefolds. I bought mine locally, well, in Portland, and a bunch were handed down to me.
