When I ordered some of my cloth dipes I was sent samples and I think so far my fave was rockin green..I ordered some and thats what Ive been using..Im just looking for what works best and will maintain my cloth as long as possible..

Since you've done a bit a research I won't post the link of the chart I've used. I use what's at my local stores as sometimes they are on sale or I have coupons for them. One's like the ALL free and clear have coupons. I've used Ecos too which I bought at Walmart. I was sent a sample too when I bought some of my dipes but I can't remember the name right now, preggo brain! :)

I use Tide HE Original in my front loader, and I have washed diapers exclusively in that for over 3 years.

vaska unscented + a dose of oxyclean free....it's basically the same thing as rockin green but I can buy it locally, unlike the rockin green which I have to buy online and have shipped.

thanks for all the replies..I currently don't have my own washer and dryer so Im using the laundry mat and the washer at my sisters house and havent noticed a huge differene(pretty much all the local businesses have softened water and so does my sister) but was wondering if anyone had any advice..Im a first time cloth diaper mom so I have no idea what actually works..I just know what Ive read..I used one of those websites that compares brands and chose one that had 4 out of 4 stars..LOL...I spent 30 dollars and got two bags of rockin green..enough for 180 loads but my stash is so small right now because we're using newborn prefolds that I can actually get twice that many loads..

The first 6 or 7 months I was constantly batting stink not matter what detergent. Finally I heard a few people say hot water is not not enough to clean your dipers. its got to be super hot which means turning up hot water heater about an hour before washing. Ever since doing that I have never had to strip and never ever had any musty smelly diapers. That was8 months ago! I highly recommend turning up water heater to wash diapers. Just don't forget to turn it down when finished. Made all the difference for us. and for detergent we use planet. It's unscented but we love it and you can buy it at most natural or organic type grocery stores. I have found sprouts grocers, if you have one, carries tons of different cloth diaper safe detergents. The shipping online that I used to pay for detergent was just crazy. I wish I had known all this at the beginning.

I was an All Free and Clear user for 9 years but recently switched to Planet and we are liking it.

Rocking green, Purex Free and Clear and Sportwash are the ones I remember that did not work out for us.
