The Great Cloth Diaper Change?

Anyone else participatng? It's a world record attempt to change as many babies cloth diapers as possible all over the world! There are over 400 locations, with any luck, one is near enough to you that you can participate. Eventho DD isn't in cloth full time anymore, we're still going to participate and she'll be in cloth that day for sure :) I'm also not-so-secretly excited to check out the shop we're doing this at. I'm unfamiliar with it, but that's too bad, from online (not an online shop) it looks quite nice and despite being a fairly progressive area, neat and useful baby shops (that have cloth diapers) are hard to come by, so sad.

Anywho, you can look it up (easy to find on google) if you want more info. I just looked for locations nearest me and noticed a brand new one that's the closest to me, but we've already RSVP's for the other location, so there we shall go. NOT looking forward to being a good 30+ minutes away by 8:30am, but oh well, it's TOTALLY worth it!

What a neat event! Have fun checking out the shop and let us know how the diaper change event goes. Can't wait to hear all about it!

What fun! We had to get up quite early as it was nearly an hour's drive from home, but it was worth it as we found a great restaurant nearby to dine in afterwards ;) but the change itself was tons of fun. the shop was great too. I'd say there were about 30 kiddos who got changed and it was moms of all types (always fascinates me to see what cloth-diapering mamas look like! AKA diverse!). The only disappointment was, the organizers decided to change the time of the actual change from 9am to 9:30, but not tell any participants, so no one was late. KNowing my wiggle worm, I got her all ready about 8:55 and then she wallered around on a cold concrete floor (beautiful painted concrete, but that's where we were changing too) for another 30 minutes.

The absolute best part tho, she didn't complain about being in cloth AND we've started putting cloth on her more in general. I mean, we have 7 covers, 5 stay-dry liners and half a dozen prefolds that fit and work for her....oooh and a flat I tried for the first time ever....it was my favorite pumping accessory, a lovely hemp flat.....I WILL have more with #2.....but yeah, saving 3 paper diapers per day is awesome! and DH is even thrilled that she's back in cloth, I love that man!

I think I read that it won't be for another week or so before we know if we made the record. I've heard of a lot of locations not having even changes....25 was the minimum, makes me sad that potentially hundreds won't be counted, but hopefully we made it anyway! and next year will be even more fun! I probably won't have a baby to change by then, but my SIL will :)
