Snappi's

I was wondering how many Snappi's I will need to diaper my NB. I've had a bad luck with the diapers I ordered from a "friend" and never recieved them. So I am going to go with prefolds and Thirsties Duo Wrap. I will be ordering when I get home from the hospital on Friday. I'm thinking 24 prefolds, 6 covers, and 6 snappi's. But not sure on the Snappi's. I can see them getting lost, DD getting a hold of them, the cat playing with them.

Thanks!

I just had 2 of them and it was fine. One to wear and one to rinse and dry. They have sharp points on them, so you'll want to treat then like you would a pair of scissors in that you don't leave them laying around for kids (or cats) to play with. They do have a safety strap you can fold over the spikes, but I never bothered and a toddler could easily figure that out. Then in several months if they get a little stretched out just replace all of them. I didn't use prefolds very often after 3 months, so I never replaced mine (still use the same two 2.5 years later)

Do they still come in a 3-pack? (they were either singles or 3-packs when I bought mine, I ended up with 2) I would probably start with one of those and go from there. I too only used them for a few months and we had fitteds too that got used first out of the wash, then we used the prefolds.
