Who Uses a Wipe Warmer?

Breastfeeding? Co-sleeping? If you really want to get new mamas riled up, just mention the wipe warmer. I confess when I see one of these plug-in baby wipe heaters on a friend's registry, I grimace and chuckle to myself. "Oh, first-time parent. You will learn!" (There are so many of these must-haves that are really just money-wasters. I’m talking to you, shopping cart cover.)

My friend Erin knows the deal. "I remember someone saying that wipe warmers are a sign of everything that’s wrong with modern day parents: too coddling, too precious," she laughs. She bought one anyway. "We found that during those middle-of-the-night diaper changes, a warm wipe was less jarring to the baby. Who really wants to have a cold wet anything slapped on your bottom in the middle of the night -- or anytime?"

I admit that I've never used one, but I know several mamas that have.  Have you ever used a wipe warmer?

Never used one!  They seem a little silly to me. I get the reason behind it, but it just seems a little... posh? to me.  I don't think any baby really was worse for having a colder wipe than a warmer one. ;)

I admit it.  We have one.  I actually got it myself with a baby shower gift card for a rather practical reason--we use cloth wipes and had no place to store them.  Some people use empty disposable diaper container or glass jars.  So a wipe warmer seems as good a place as any, and like a little bit of a manageable luxury item.  But I absolutely feel like it is a bit over the top.  You don't need one--you can change a dipaer without them, just like people did for thousands of years.
